Virginia Tech and the Montgomery County-Radford City-Floyd County Branch of the NAACP are pleased to announce the fourth annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Poster and Essay Competition. The purpose of this competition is to encourage students to think critically about Dr. King's legacy.
The competition is open to students in Montgomery County, Radford, Floyd County, Giles County and Pulaski County. In addition, entries from other parts of the Commonwealth are welcome.
The Poster competition is open to all elementary to all elementary and middle school students from kindergarten to 8th grade. The Essay competition is open to all middle and high school students. The top winners in the respective categories will receive a U.S. Savings Bond.
The winners will be recognized at the 4th Annual MLK Community Breakfast on Monday, January 19, 2009 on the Virginia Tech campus
