HOW TO GUIDE

The "How to Guide" is officially known as the Guide for the Use, Application and Promotion of the Virginia Tech Principles of Community.

In April 2005, the Commission on Equal Opportunity and Diversity (CEOD) developed the framework for the "How to Guide". The Commisson felt that it was necessary to develop a way for members of the university community to better understand how the Principles of Community could be utilized. The "How to Guide" was first made available in July 2005.

The "How to Guide" serves as a listing of potential best practices and frameworks that could be used throughout the community. One of the important things is that the guide is a true working document. The guide serves as a resource listing of how members of the university community have used the Principles. In order for the guide to be successful, we need to hear from the university community.
