Principles of Community central to theme of "A Community of Hokies" as used in New Student Orientation
Completion of "How to Guide", now known as the
Guide for the Use, Application and Promotion of the Virginia Tech Principles of Community
Training of group of undergraduate/graduate students for formal presentations
Formal presentations to VPs, Deans and other officials throughout the University
Standard Framed versions, bookmarks, postcards made available to all university departments

August 2005
Formal presentations continue
Appearance of the Principles in "What's in Store" newsletter
Principles of Community featured in the New Faculty, Graduate and International Student Orientations

September 2005
Formal presentations continue
1/2 page Ad in The Collegiate Times
Effort begins to secure translated versions of the Principles of Community
Start of usage of Principles of Community in Diversity Training workshops
conducted through the Office of Multicultural Affairs

October 2005
The College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences (CLAHS) runs a full-page ad featuring
the Principles of Community in support of campus climate

The Commission on Student Affairs creates a taskforce to examine how students
can become more involved with the Principles of Community

November/December 2005
Students in a technical writing class begin development of new brochure
The Virginia Tech Principles of Community for Student Organizations

The theme of the Principles of Community is central to the
planning of Women's Month to be held in March 2006

January 2006
Incorporation of the Principles in the first University-wide MLK Celebrations

February 2006
Official Launch of Safewatch

Cranwell International Center uses the translated versions for
a mailing to international students and their families

March 2006
One Year Anniversary of the Principles of Community
Unveiling of new online Resource Center
Limited Edition T-Shirts
Poster Series featuring the Principles of Community

April 2006
Video produced by University Relations. Video used during Summer Orientation
and available online HERE

July 2006
Process begins to install Principles of Community in General Purpose Classrooms
alongside the Honor Code, and will continue throughout the year

August 2006
College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences hosts "Connect to the CLAHS Community"
which focused on how the Principles can strengthen the College Community. Event held for
all first-years students in the College and facilitated by College faculty and staff

September 2006
Principles of Community appears alongside President Steger's letter in Football Guide

October 2006
First-ever Graduate Teaching Assistant Workshop (GTA) held on the Principles of Community

November 2006
The Principles of Community are featured in the Fall 2006 edition of the Virginia Tech Magazine
